Vera - A Sicilian Love

Based upon a true story. A young woman follows her criminal husband to Sicily where her love is stretched beyond the boundaries of endurance. Evolving from a naďve little girl to a strong woman, she risks everything to save her love and her family.

It’s a dangerous time in a dangerous setting. It’s the sixties, and the beautiful Vera has fallen utterly in love with Gaettano, an energetic and romantic guy who just happens to be involved with the mob. As much as he loves her, he doesn’t realize the dangers that she faces being so close to such hardened criminals. Vera’s love for him is all she sees…

Gaettano’s greed and his gullibility are threatening their relationship…and always getting him into trouble. Worse still, his misplaced loyalty to Toni, a nightclub owner, lands him in prison. After his release, in the hope of rekindling the fiery love she once had with him, Vera moves to Sicily with Gaettano for a fresh start. There, he lands a job with his influential uncle. It is still difficult for Gaettano to avoid the temptation of quick and easy money offered by his Sicilian connections.

Then Toni, who is engaged to Gaettano’s shy little sister Anna, shows up in Sicily. Gaettano, who naively places loyalty above common sense, once again resumes that dangerous friendship, even getting involved in Toni’s criminal undertakings. When Toni and Anna’s wedding turns into a bloodbath, the enraged Gaettano swears revenge - which Vera, who is now heavily pregnant, desperately and fearfully tries to prevent. Gaettano, to Vera’s horror, continues on with his vendetta, in which innocent people are killed.

Having come to Sicily to fight for her love, she now must fight for her life.
At this point, naďve no more, it is only Vera’s stubborn strength that gives the young family any hope of surviving…
