Agathe: The Monastery Murder

A dead monk is found in the library of the Marienfeld convent, apparently crushed by a fallen bookcase. Clutched tightly in his deathly grip is an amazing find: a previously unknown composition from no other than Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself!

Enter Agathe, a nosy, little old lady and amateur detective with a sharp analytical mind and brilliant instincts when it comes to solving mysteries. When she hears about the death, she suspects that there is far more to this “accident” than meets the eye.

Disguised as one of the nuns, she enters the convent where she unexpectedly meets the bookseller Stingermann, her close friend and indispensable assistant in numerous investigations. Stingermann has been invited to the convent as an expert for antique music manuscripts. The two friends begin their investigation…

When yet another monk is found dead and the mysterious sheets of music disappear, Agathe’s detective instincts shift into high gear. Under suspicion are all the people that had been at the convent when the crimes were committed: the music scientist Monika, the composer Rudolph, Friedrich the pianist, and numerous others…each found to have a motive.

Determined to solve the puzzle before it claims more victims, the frail but stubborn Agathe must navigate the spiraling and dangerous web of intrigue surrounding her before she herself falls prey.
