Agathe: Murder Knows no Holiday

Forget Miss Marple, Inspector Columbo and Sherlock Holmes… although an elderly lady, the amateur detective Agathe with her infallible instincts and razor-sharp wit succeeds in solving baffling crimes that the police themselves have considered hopeless.

Vacationing at a spa in the Austrian Alps, Agathe and her good friend and assistant Stingermann meet the Von Kliers, a married couple accompanied by their personal assistant Bernd. Soon it’s clear to Agathe that there’s something very fishy about this “ideal family”. Sure enough, instead of poolside relaxation, the two amateur detectives suddenly find themselves faced with two murders.

First, it’s the croupier Viola – found dead in the hotel’s storage room. Quickly thereafter the body of Conrad von Klier is discovered in the swimming pool. The mystery takes an unexpected turn when Agathe deduces that the two were secretly lovers.

While the local police are desperately searching for the missing tapes from the hotel’s security cameras, Agathe has already started out on the murderer’s trail. Was it really the skiing instructor Andy, Viola’s fiancée, as policeman Brachl believes? Agathe’s suspicions fall on more than a few of the hotel guests. Once again, it won’t be the inept police officers that will solve this case…
