A Grandfather for Christmas

Christmas is coming, but the Wagner’s home is hardly filled with a merry holiday spirit. Little Jacob’s parents, Robert and Katherina, are both buried in work and have little time for their 7 year-old son. So Jacob spends most of his time with his friend Maxie and her grandfather Willi, who tends to them both with warmth and affection. No wonder then that instead of the usual kid’s Christmas wish of a toy train or a computer, Jacob, more than anything else, simply wants a Grandpa of his own.

He never had the chance to know his own grandfather, who had abandoned the family when his own life had started to unravel…
During a trip to the Christmas market, Jacob asks Santa to please grant him his only wish, and to deliver his present in person.

What little Jacob cannot possibly know is that under the Santa costume is his very own grandpa Eduard, who has secretly returned to town.

But even when the old man recognizes the little boy as his grandson, he does not dare reveal himself, because even though Eduard would like nothing more than to reunite with his family, his son, Jacob’s father, has never forgiven him for his abrupt disappearance. So when “his” Santa doesn’t show up on Christmas Eve, Jacob sets out to find him…
