Inheritance with a Catch

They say your home is your castle, but computer expert Christoph would surely be willing to settle for something far more modest. He’s only got a few days left to find a new home for himself, his wife Simone and their kids – pre-teen Lissy, the twins Melissa, Marvin and little Bobo.

So it seems like an enormous stroke of luck when Christoph inherits a house from his late uncle, whom he hadn’t heard from in decades. There is just one condition set in the will: Christoph can only keep the house if he manages to transform his uncle’s run-down rose garden into a beautiful oasis within 4 weeks. A little gardening work…to inherit such a huge and lovely house? For the family it seems like a gift from the gods, so they excitedly waste no time in moving in.

Even when they discover that all of his deceased uncle’s employees come as a part of the deal, and will live with them, their enthusiasm remains high. Albert and Theresa are a little strange, but they are quite likeable and as old as the hills and probably not long for this world anyway. Bobo is especially taken by them and immediately adopts the two as “grandma and grandpa”.

But then the problems start: at first it’s just Albert running to the toilet every ten minutes – which makes the house’s ancient plumbing constantly rumble in loud protest. Sweet and scatterbrained, Albert and Theresa seem to be behind flooded floors, collapsed ceilings and a multitude of other nightmares. The kids seem to enjoy it, but Christoph and Simon are running out of patience. They even wonder if it’s possible the troublesome old pair could be secretly scheming against them…

Finally, his nerves completely fried, Christoph attempts to cancel the seniors’ lease only to discover he can’t get rid of them unless his family agrees to abandon their inheritance…
