Lissy is an extremely successful and ambitious corporate consultant who is aiming to become a junior partner in her firm. She is equally ambitious in her love life. As soon as she can find the time, she plans on marrying her colleague Tom, who is her exact male equivalent - highly successful and absolutely addicted to his work.

However, Lissy`s life is soon thrown completely out of rhythm when she receives the news that her father has died – the father that she thought had died years ago in a plane crash.

Overwhelmed by shock, grief and disappointment, she travels to a small Italian coastal town to attend the funeral, where she is surprised to learn that she’s inherited a fifty percent ownership of an ice cream parlor.

The ice cream parlor had been her dad’s pride and joy, and in the eyes of Fabio, the other heir, the best ice cream producer in the area.

A protégé of Lissy’s father, Fabio is intensely dedicated to carrying on the shop’s successful tradition.

Lissy discovers that although Fabio is gifted when it comes to making ice cream, he has absolutely no business sense whatsoever.

Despite its excellent product, the shop is very close to bankruptcy. In order to execute her plan of selling the business at a profit, Lissy dives right into the restructuring of its finances.

But while Lissy is busy in Italy, her Hamburg company almost loses their biggest client due to her absence. The result? Lissy loses her job, along with the dream of the junior partnership…

The devastating news is only bearable because of her flowering love for Fabio - a love that soon becomes threatened when her fiancé Tom shows up and convinces her to come back with him to Hamburg, leaving Fabio behind, heartbroken and deeply disappointed….
