Chief physician Dr. Robert M. Voss is the director and driving force of the Alphateam, a quick-response unit of dedicated doctors, first-aid medics and nurses who are the first on the scene of an accident or emergency. In those first few critical seconds, they must instantaneously diagnose the patient, stabilize their vital functions and call in any necessary preparations to the hospital. The Alphateam saves lives.

Their commitment to their work, with its daily stress, long hours and high concentration level, leaves the heroic team very little time and energy for a normal private life.
