Dr. Peter, a heart specialist, and his sister Reka, an internist, are having financial difficulties at the private hospital they own and operate. Soon having no other alternative, they are forced to downsize the hospital, leaving only an emergency clinic for the community and a beauty clinic specializing in various cosmetic procedures. The two highly contrasting institutions, with their exactly opposing philosophies, are from the start in continual conflict.

Lenke, the popular local mayoress, resigns in protest of the hospital being sold. Soon thereafter, she resurfaces as the commissioner of local medical services. Having raised three kids, Lenke is the sharp-witted, strong and determined head of the family. Her daughter Viola owns the “Blue Cat”, a stylish café/bar that forms the hub of social life outside of the hospital.

Elod is an ‘entrepreneur’ with underworld connections and a gangster reputation. Despite his arrest and trial for the shooting of his lover, his intense drive and ambition keeps him moving forward on his unsavory path.

When Dr. Peter discovers that his wife Laura has been having a secret affair with the hospital’s manager Nandi, he files for divorce. Because Nandi was Reka’s long-term partner, both she and her brother are going through a traumatic time.

Peter and Laura’s teenage daughter Barbara is frustrated, rebellious and in non-stop conflict with both of her parents – until her mother disappears. As if to purposely irritate her dad, Barbara starts an affair with the considerably older Elod, who is far from the kind of guy Peter would ever approve of for his daughter.

“For Better or Worse” delivers tense, life-and-death medical emergencies alongside heart-warming romance and domestic drama. Tackling difficult social issues, the show offers gripping emotional stories that keep audiences absorbed. This ongoing dramatic saga portrays the conflicts and stress inherent in the working life, as well as the endless private intrigues that are never far behind…
