Inferno

Seven years after forest fires had razed sections of southern France, the region is once again experiencing tinder-dry weather conditions. Lieutenant Anna, who works for the fire brigade, intuits that the conditions will definitely soon spawn another catastrophic fire. Adding to the problem, an arsonist is at work in the region.





Anna, unable to convince her boss Captain Pierre Lamont of the danger, stubbornly defies his orders and attempts to avert the disaster, accompanied only by her good friend and colleague Sylvain and two other firefighters. Anna focuses on the little village of La Garde Freinet, which, being surrounded by inaccessible high forest, is at distinctly high risk.




The local fire brigade’s welcome is far from warm…until all hell breaks loose. A large series of separate fires, obviously the work of an arsonist, are soon fanned into a huge, uncontrollable blaze by the high winds.

Stately manors, a horse stable, a campground as well as hundreds of tourists and local residents are in dire peril. A group of kids who were exploring a cave find their exit blocked by an impassable wall of fire. Benjamin, a young and talented pilot of a water bomber, delays his wedding and risks his life to provide aerial support for the fire brigade struggling on the ground. With skill, unwavering determination and selfless courage, Anna and her team manage to clear a temporary path through the fire to the cave’s entrance.

Just after the teenagers are whisked to safety, the fire once again roars to life. Now it is Anna and Sylvain who find themselves trapped, encircled by the hungry flames…
