Sheherazade

Fairy Tales | 7 x 45’

Now it is time to go Arabian with a very special version of “One Thousand and One Nights”, in which a cast of first-class comedians parodies some of the most famous tales, such as “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves“.

The framework for every tale is Sheherazade, called “Shera“, who has swindled her way into her new “Super Nanny“ job. To keep the three kids entertained, she makes up her very own stories from “One Thousand and One Nights” that she twists into versions mirroring her own crazy ideas about education.

“Little Mook“ works as a pedicurist and cares for Baghdad’s coolest runners. Mook himself could never make it as a runner, and also has no chance to win the heart of the adorable Hülya.

While drowning his sorrows in alcohol, he is confronted with the devil in form of Luzi Faith, who makes him a tempting offer.

In “Caliph Stork“, the Caliph is a laid-back fat cat doing nothing but eating and sleeping. It is a perfect life – except for his younger brother’s annoying ambition to take away his throne. It is only after the “Next Miss Orient“ beauty pageant, when both brothers fall in love with the winner Yasemin, that their battling comes to a head…

“The Caravan of Damned Virgins“ features the major macho Aydin trying to seduce the lovely Leyla. She lives along with the other virgins in the sultan’s harem, so he must pass himself off as both a woman and a true virgin to get past the eunuch and part-time mind reader Kain to reach his goal.

Ali Baba is a cool and smart crook. In “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves“, he meets the beautiful Shantü and wants to marry her – but she is locked up in her greedy father’s palace. What could he possibly offer him for his daughter’s hand? His agile mind comes up with a great story about forty thieves and their treasure…

In “The Crazy Dschinn!“ Hazal and Akkiz force a sexist genie on their dreamy friend Papatya. They have their own wishes fulfilled, but they backfire. Papatya can save her friends with the third and final wish, but in return she has to marry the hideous genie…

“The Thief of Baghdad“, Sabu, is a clever pickpocket that gets caught one day stealing a purse.

Put into prison and facing the punishment of having his hands chopped off, heaven gives him a second chance: If he improves, he can keep his hands. His first good deed? A chaotic escape with his inmate...
