Dirty Money

Herbert, a single and cranky stamp-collector, runs a stamp store in Vienna and lives together with his aging aunt. One day Chester, a wounded bank robber on the run, rushes into Herbert’s garage with all of his stolen money.








Because it had been marked by a paint bomb and Herbert is an expert at removing stains from stamps, he comes up with a heartbreaking story to get Herbert to clean up his loot.

Excited over the clean cash to come, Chester invites Herbert out for a few drinks. The night ends with Herbert falling in love with the gorgeous stripper Jenny and taking her home. Because he oversleeps, Herbert fails to remove the banknotes from the cleaning solution in time, leaving them bleached out and useless! Enraged, Chester demands compensation from Herbert, but he just does not have that kind of money…










Chester already comes up with a new plan – he wants a piece of the life insurance policy that Aunt Hertha had bought in her nephew’s name. All he now needs is a dead body to pass off as Herbert!








They find an ideal corpse and successfully manage to stage a “fatal accident” for Herbert that matches the body’s cause of death. It is only now that Chester shares a secret with Herbert leaving him devastated – he and Jenny were once married and she is a notorious liar!

Their plan works out.




After a rescue team finally finds Herbert’s “body”, the insurance money is paid, and Chester is preparing to leave the country. But now Herbert, who feels betrayed from all sides, wants to turn himself in to the police! That Chester cannot allow, so suddenly Herbert and Jenny – who had stolen the bleached out banknotes to use against Chester – find themselves tied up together, about to be asphyxiated by exhaust fumes…
