Dr. Winter, a respected psychologist, is persuaded by his 17 year-old daughter Alexandra to take a vacation on a beautiful Spanish island. He’s got absolutely no idea of her real motive – to convince him to buy the dream villa of real estate mogul Marquard – so he agrees to the trip.
On the island, Marquard organizes a big party on his private yacht to celebrate his birthday, and even Dr. Winter can’t turn down such an invitation. Both he and his daughter attend. At the party it quickly becomes obvious that most of the guests are not really friends; they are business associates of Marquard who are all looking to profit from their relationship with him.
The morning after the party Marquard is found dead, and the startling number of possible suspects complicates the case. There’s Marquard’s gorgeous companion Sonja, his accountant Ernesto Mendez, automobile dealer Heinz and his girlfriend Swetlana, the shy Dr. Katharina, and finally Marquard’s own brother Dieter – all having clear motives.
Unfortunately, Inspector Costa-Cruz also sees Dr. Winter as a suspect. But then it seems that Marquard’s murder was only the first…and the direction the mounting clues are leading proves shocking to all…
