“Remember, I’ll always love you” were the very last words that Eric Lawton spoke to his wife Charlie before he fired a bullet into his head. 
Confused and overcome with despair, the young widow stands before his grave in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was here that she and Eric had planned to leave the past behind and build a new future together. 
Charlie, though, had never even met Eric’s family or his ex-wife. Only now, after his death, does she realize just how lonely she is – and how little she actually knew about her husband. 
Eric was healthy, happily married and a successful sales manager for a pharmaceutical company... what had suddenly compelled him to take his own life? What had Eric concealed from her? Why had he bought old photographs at an antique store and presented them to her as pictures of his family?
Charlie’s best friend Bethany poses questions that only succeed in fanning the flames of her growing suspicions: Is it possible Eric was not really the man he was pretending to be? Could he have led a double life – and had a second wife somewhere else? 
When an argument ensues, Charlie bitterly defends her deceased husband, although secretly she is victimized by her own increasing doubts. Just in the last few weeks prior to Eric’s suicide she had sensed something was wrong – and had even spied on him. Without success. 
Despite the inexplicable flu leaving her weakened for the last several days, Charlie is determined to uncover the truth...
