Barbara Lichtblau decides to give herself the birthday gift of a trip to Mexico. Finally, the chance to satisfy her longing for the honeymoon she never had! But when her husband Thomas suddenly decides not to come and her joyful plans seem to disintegrate, her friend Sandra jumps in to take his place… 
And everything is exactly as she had always dreamed: Blue sky and exquisite white beaches – although Sandra is focused only on Diego, whom she had met the very first day.
Beach bar owner Pepe jumps in the void and showers Barbara with attention to dispel her loneliness. During a romantic boat trip he even succeeds in seducing her. But when she accidently causes the boat to go out of control, Pepe suffers an injury that lands him in the hospital. Racked with guilt, Barbara feels compelled to step in and temporarily run the beach bar…
Suddenly Consuela appears, angrily declaring that she is Pepe’s wife – and not his sister as he had claimed. A successful businesswoman who works during the week in Mexico City, Pepe’s accident has forced her home to take care of their kids. 
Unexpectedly, the two women become friends and strike an unusual bargain: Barbara will take care of the bar and the children, which will leave Consuela free to concentrate on her job.
But Thomas suddenly shows up in a last-ditch effort to rescue his marriage – just as Pepe is due to be released from the hospital…
