After his girlfriend left him for another man years ago, Jakob Neuhaus made a decision: to simply live alone. He buries himself in research on his favorite subject – Casanova, who wasn’t just a skirt chaser. He was an educated and gifted character who just happened to love women – lots of them.
Jakob had written his thesis on Casanova, and while trying to impress his new colleague Marie, the heavy manuscript conks him on the head, knocking him out. When his foggy head clears he’s staring into the eyes of a man dressed in elegant 18th century attire, who introduces himself as Giacomo Casanova. Jakob is the only one who can see him.
The two make a pact: Casanova will train him in the art of seducing women if Jakob will present him as more than a womanizer. He wants the world to know he was also a successful scientist and philosopher. Casanova’s coaching does nothing to help Jakob’s situation with Marie. With his place in history at stake, he convinces his “student” to go after the attractive model Sandra instead.
With Casanova’s guidance, Jakob’s confidence with women eventually gathers steam. Even Marie is forced to take notice but it looks like Sandra has all of his attention. She is floored when Jakob boldly declares his love for her in front of the entire audience at his exhibition. But before he can really bring Marie into his life, he’s got to get Casanova out…
