Anna and Michael have tried everything to have a child. Desperate, Anna must endure the pitying glances of other mothers as well as scornful comments from her crazy mother-in-law. 
Adding to the misery is an unusual rule concerning succession in Michael's company, which states that only those who have a son and heir can become a majority shareholder.
But the possibility for a child does still exist – through a surrogate mother. Peter, Anna’s doctor and a friend of Michael’s, even knows a likely candidate: Maria, a Russian nurse, who already has an eight-year-old child of her own and is willing to carry another pair’s embryo.
Anna, however, has not taken one aspect into account. If she wants to fool anyone, she must pretend to be pregnant, using pillows or fake theater stomachs until she can suddenly appear with a newborn in her arms. 
This ploy horribly backfires when Maria prematurely gives birth while stuck in the elevator serving Anna’s apartment building…
