Chief Inspector Matthias Steiner, head of the Department of Unsolved Crimes, has a brilliant memory, sharply honed instincts and an exquisite understanding of human nature. 
His young partner Julia Gerling, on the other hand, is fun loving, logical and disciplined. Add to this unusual mixture Andreas Zier, an eager and ambitious graduate of the police academy who, as an unproven beginner, has much to learn.
