Lotta in Love

Lotta is 23 years old and works at her parents’ laundry service. A shy young woman, she dreams of becoming a graphic designer, but a lack of confidence in her creative abilities keeps her from pursuing her dream. Her parents anyway have the great expectation that she will one day take over the family business.





Only with her best friends can Lotta really talk about the things that she cares the most about. It’s particularly Tanja, her best friend and roommate, who supports her with all her heart. Time after time she rescues Lotta’s drawings from the trashcan and encourages her to hold on to her dream.






But Lotta’s life is turned upside down at a concert by the pop star Alex, when the singer’s manager discovers that Lotta looks exactly like the famous pop idol! A combination of unlikely circumstances sees her don the star’s outfit and she is hurried on stage and right into the arms of Alex’s boyfriend, the guitarist Michael.

Lotta has already adored him from afar, but when he embraces her and kisses her passionately, all thoughts about her role-playing instantly vanish and she falls hopelessly in love with him.

Alex’s management is quick to exploit the uncanny similarity of the two and they hire Lotta to stand in for the singer at autograph sessions and photo shoots in order to give the stressed-out pop star a break. Uneasily, she accepts although the strange and glamorous pop star business is altogether alien to her.



But Lotta could really use the money to help out her parents – and it’s the best way to get closer to Michael. But she’s not permitted to tell anyone about her new job as Alex’s stand in, Michael doesn’t seem to notice her at all when she meets him as Lotta – and in her role as “Alex” she is forced to keep him at a distance.





How long will she be able to keep up this charade and lie to the man she loves? As a riveting story overflowing with confounding mix-ups, nasty intrigue and surprising twists develops, yet another secret is bubbling under the surface: why is it actually that Lotta and Alex look so eerily similar…?
