Each episode of “Ladyland” contains 3 hilarious short stories. They are surprising and suspenseful, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face, make you want to rip your hair out, drive you crazy, or simply just get to you with their satirical humor.
The stories are taken directly from life and could happen anywhere and at any time. In each episode one top comedian plays the part of all three characters…all having wildly different personalities – with incredible humor, wit and emotion. At times she portrays a woman who is very timid, then one who is extremely dramatic. Most impressive is her amazing skill as the woman with 1000 faces, each more hilarious than the last. She really is her own ensemble cast!
The episodes share a common thread, which have our multi-talented comedian playing 3 women characters that don’t know each other but whose lives unknowingly intertwine in each episode. Locations where these encounters take place include a hotel lobby, a gas station, an office building or an apartment where the characters meet by chance.
Each of the 3 stories first follows one and then the other through their hectic lives, exposing the weirdest, funniest, most emotional and outrageous situations that seem to easily turn the characters’ worlds upside down.
The women so entertainingly characterized include an arrogant real estate agent who suddenly finds herself in a barn full of cows. At other times the character might be a hotel receptionist with artistic ambitions, an office assistant who discovers a sniper hiding out on her balcony, a female president or a dumb blonde.
No matter what, “Ladyland” give us insight into the lives of other women who, just like ourselves, realize that life is sometimes too amusing to be taken too seriously.
