The Best Idea

Creativity, ingenuity and the determination to come up with something both new and useful: that is the concept behind the primetime show “The Best Idea” as it searches for the person with the most amazing invention.








The inventors are kids, students, housewives, retirees etc. Not only will the winner receive a cash prize – they get to see their project professionally developed, produced and marketed!









The hopeful candidates are given a four-staged opportunity to present their ideas. In a presentation booth fitted with a camera hidden behind a one-way mirror, they have one minute to make their first sales pitch.








It is the overall potential of the idea that determines if the candidate makes it to the next round – with some of the inventions being so weird that they don't have the slightest chance to make it into production!

In the second round, the remaining candidates are confronted by a professional jury. The 4 jurors – all industrial, business and design professionals - evaluate the ideas in terms of the product’s aesthetics, practicality, ease of manufacture, commercial viability and its benefit to society.

The panel of experts then offers feedback to the candidates concerning the required further development of their invention for a possible next round, and they select the twenty best ideas.







Those candidates that pass this nerve-wracking hurdle must make the suggested improvements assisted by a professional designer agency, which process is also recorded. Presenting their improved versions, the twenty participants battle it out in two semi-finals, with the jury handpicking the six finalists.





In the live final, each of the six finalists present their final concept. But now it is up to the viewing public – not the jury!

It is the candidates’ inventiveness, enthusiasm and determination that draw viewers in to this dynamic show.







After the presentations, the audiences vote by phone or text message. At the end, the host reveals the winner, who not only receives a considerable sum of money, but also sees his idea becoming reality!
