In this prime time, one-hour reality show, five couples are given the opportunity to renovate a run-down hotel and temporarily open it for business. What they don’t yet know is that along with regular people, the most extraordinary guests will be checking in…

The couple that proves to be the most capable of managing the hotel and best copes with the stress of the completely unexpected situations coming their way will win the hotel and run it for a year.

Directly at the beginning, the couples are invited to the Hotel and much to their surprise not only will the first guests be arriving within the hour; they will be running a fully booked hotel the entire weekend!

In order to learn the basics, the five couples get the chance to work in a top-class hotel. At the end of the internship the jury rates the couples’ performances – for one couple, it is time to go home.

Now, only four couples are left. Each couple begins renovating one room in the hotel. When it is finished, they must fill it with paying guests in order to come up with extra money to renovate the other rooms.

The next step is the Grand Opening of “The Hotel”, which is now completely renovated, although one couple has not survived the restoration process. The remaining three couples have to promote the hotel, try to get VIP guests, add their last-minute touches, etc…

In the semifinal, “The Hotel” is running at full swing, with the three couples being judged as they undertake the hotel duties, such as overall management, running the restaurant and acting as hotel personnel. They rotate their positions, so that every couple has the chance to prove themselves in every function.

The three remaining couples are now in a race against time to upgrade their hotel to a 3- or even 4-star status. Hopefully they can put what they have learned to good use, because the jury must now send one couple packing, leaving just two for the ultimate showdown.

In the exciting live final, the jury, the hotel guests and the viewers at home will decide which couple has what it takes to win “The Hotel”.
