In this one-hour reality documentary, presenter Lauren Verster accompanies renowned photographers around the globe as they capture their spectacular stories.

“Cover Story” not only documents the risks and danger often faced by these professionals and enlightens viewers as to how a reportage is actually made, it also details the years of investment and great sacrifice for these elite photographers. For the first time, audiences will be treated to a “behind-the-scenes” peek into a world they have never before been exposed to.

Each week, Lauren and a featured photojournalist present an exciting and adventurous subject. After the photographer is introduced, exciting action shots depict their field of work, followed by highlights of past reports and photos. Then the two set out to capture their story.

While the photographer is shooting, Lauren acts as co-writer of the reportage. The featured professional is driven to create the most captivating photo-report possible.

He also acts as a guide, sharing his experiences and information relating to the theme at hand. The resulting reportages featuring the best pictures will be published in print magazines available around the world.

Lauren is primarily a witness to the scene – just like the viewer at home. She maintains a dialogue with the locals and keeps the viewer informed about what’s going on at the moment.

Lauren has already had a number of fearful encounters: a bank robbery crime scene in Naples, at the front line of the drug war in Columbia and during the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, when that city’s crime rate skyrockets. In this weekly program, the audience is given the exciting opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to be a star-photographer!
