Shock. Heart racing. Adrenaline pumping. Final prayers. When you see the footage, it is hard to believe anyone survived. But they did, and some would call it a miracle. But behind each of these sensations is an unexpected scientific explanation.
Now, “The Indestructibles” explores these mind-blowing catastrophic events that seemingly should have ended in death but left survivors wondering how they could possibly still be alive.
“The Indestructibles” investigates real-life disastrous incidents to explain how someone could survive the seemingly unsurvivable. Deconstructing footage from each incident, the series reveals the hard and fast scientific principles behind these cases that defy the laws of probability.
We’ll hear harrowing accounts from eyewitnesses and victims to get a 360° look at what really happened, including a skydiver who falls from almost three miles up, a helicopter split in half high above city streets, an SUV that rolls over a pedestrian, a zoo keeper attacked by hungry lions and a tourist pulled off a cliff by violent Hawaiian waves.

Enhanced by state-of-the-art graphics, each unbelievable story is investigated by experts who conduct various tests and experiments to precisely analyze each step of the accident. Utilizing physics, physiology, biology, aerodynamics and psychology, they determine what incredible series of lucky events enabled the disaster victim to survive.
What has appeared to be a miracle is proven to be an extremely rare and precise chain of scientifically explainable factors. Only the amazingly fortunate and timely cooperation of all these combining factors made it possible for these people to live to tell their astonishing stories…

“The Indestructibles” takes a fascinating look at how the human body responds to extreme conditions, how the physics of such disasters actually work, and how the mind and one’s psychological make-up can mean the very difference between life and death.
